All star cheerleaders are well known for their elite skills but what you don't always see is their amazing compassion. Summer Heidelberger, a 16-year-old cheerleader on Rockstar Beatles from South Carolina has proven that there is a whole lot more behind those big bows than just sass and skills.

Summer founded a charity called "Cheerleaders Got Your Back" as an opportunity for cheerleaders to donate backpacks to children in need. We caught up with Summer at The MAJORS in Indianapolis, IN to find out more about her amazing organization.

Summer said she came up with the idea for her charity after looking in her closet and seeing so many unused backpacks that she had won during her years of all star cheerleading competitions. Wanting to find a good use for the backpacks she decided to start donating them to chidren in need.

I'm challenging other cheerleaders to just donate out of their heart, out of their love.

Each year over 3.6 million referrals are made to child protective agencies involving more than 6.6 million children, according to ChildHelp.org. By donating something as simple as a backpack it helps makes the emergency removal of children an easier process.
