The Man, The Myth: Brice Thomas

Navarro College's Brice Thomas might be a freshman, but he's a seasoned champ when it comes to competitive cheerleading. Having already cheered at both a winning high school and a prestigious all-star gym, Brice is destined for greatness during his years cheering on the Bulldogs. We asked him where he's been, what he's been up to, and where he's headed.

Get to know the man, the myth, the legend: Brice Thomas!

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Bartow, Florida.

What are you going to school for?

I'm going to school for architecture and interior design.

How did you get started in cheerleading?

I got started in cheer at age 4 when I watched the original "Bring It On" movie for the very first time. I saw the boys in the movie tumbling and thought it would be cool to learn to tumble like them.

Where have you cheered in the past?

  • Brandon All Stars
  • Bartow High School
  • Currently at Navarro College

What's your favorite part of cheerleading?

My favorite part of cheerleading would have to be being able to travel for competitions. I get to see all my friends from other cheerleading programs from out of state that I don't get to see on a regular day-to-day basis.

What's your signature tumbling pass?

Round-off whip Arabian through to kick double

Do you have a signature stunt?

A tick low opposite lib full around to arabesque.

You cheered on the very successful Brandon Senior Black, tell us how that shaped you as a cheerleader?

Being on BSB has shaped me in so many ways as a cheerleader and a person. I learned to always be prepared for anything. To always stay on top of my game, to be responsible for myself by being on time and to lead by example, and always represent myself well.

You cheer at Navarro currently, another program with big traditions and a legacy of excellence, tell us how it feels to be a part of such a well-known college cheerleading program?

It is an amazing feeling to be a part of this program. Not many people get to call themselves a Navarro cheerleader. So I take it with such pride and honor to be there. I make sure that every day in practice I give my full potential to keep the traditions and the legacy going.

Who is your biggest motivation?

My parents are my biggest motivators. They always have the best interests for me, and they literally always have my back no matter what. I know I can always turn to them for anything, and I just want to make it big in life and make them so proud of me for making it.

What are your future goals in the cheerleading world?

My future goals in the cheerleading world are to become a well-known choreographer and to one day be a cheerleading coach!
