Jess Voge Hits Zero On Her Last Cancer Scan!
Jessica Voge is a 12-year-old cheerleader from Midwest Cheer Elite and has her own team by her side as she undergoes the biggest battle of her life... cancer.

In September, Jess experienced pain in her wrist when she tumbled. After the pain increased, her mom took her to the emergency room to have tests done. The doctors admitted Jess to the hospital and later diagnosed her with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which is a type of cancer that affects the bone and blood marrow. After being admitted, she spent over 30 days in the hospital.

This diagnosis forced her to give up her cheer season, home life, and school life. Her treatment plan was for four rounds of 30-day inpatient treatments of chemo, during which her body would be broken down and tested to see if it could build itself back up with healthy cells. The original plan was for this treatment to take place over a six-month time period.

Her first round of the chemo treatment was so successful that after the first 30 days, she was in remission! In early November, less than one percent of her healthy marrow contained cancer cells. Although this was amazing news and she was in remission and essentially cancer-free, she still had to go through the remaining three chemo treatment rounds to ensure that the AML stayed away.

On March 20, Jess' final bone marrow test results proved she'd hit the best zero deduction performance of her lifeโ€ฆ ZERO CANCER CELLS! Her test came back NED (no evidence of disease), and she is officially cancer-free!

Last weekend, Jess made her return in a cheerleading uniform and walked out with her team as it took the competition floor. Now that she's cancer-free, Jess is back in the air and flying after just six months. It was just like riding a bike, and it was as if she did not skip a beat! Jess plans on making her return to the mat with the Midwest Cheer Elite Wildcats at the 2017 Summit; she's working hard and training to get her skills back!
