Every all star dance team dreams of taking home the Gold Medal at The Dance Worlds. Making it to this level of competition takes overwhelming dedication, practice and hard work.

The Senior Jazz competition at The Dance Worlds is so large that in 2016 it split into two size groups -  Small and Large Jazz. The International Open Jazz and Open Coed Jazz divisions include some of the most competitive athletes from around the world that will be battling it out on the Worlds stage in 2017.

Here is a look at how these divisions have unfolded in the past and who will be top contenders again in 2017!

Senior Small Jazz

GOLD -
PACE Elite All Stars is all too familiar with winning the Gold in the Senior Jazz division. Back in 2007, the inaugural year of The Dance Worlds, PACE took home the very first Gold in Jazz. PACE continues to dominate in the division taking home the gold year after year from 2007 to 2012. They have remained in the top three every year until taking back their crown in 2016.

SILVER - Earning the silver medal in the Senior Small Jazz Division last year was The Vision Dance Center. The Vision seniors have never reached gold at The Dance Worlds, but have had a winning season so far and are very likely to continue the winning trend in Orlando. In this year's routine, you will see lots of symmetry with the staging and difficult changing spot turn sequences. Even though there are only 13 dancers performing, TVDC maximizes crowd engagement by utilizing the full stage.

BRONZE - The Dancin' Bluebonnets are fairly new to The Dance Worlds as they made their first ever trip in 2014. They ascended to the podium at The Dance Worlds quickly as they took home silver in 2015 and bronze in 2016. Their choreography has always been a great example of classic jazz. This year, there are frequent solo and duo highlights showcasing difficult technical skills, but all together they are hitting full team aerial cartwheels as they bring the perfect amount of attitude and sass.

South Coast Freestyle Dance has consistently made their way into finals since the beginning years of The Dance Worlds. They took home the bronze in Senior Jazz back in 2013 and was one placement shy of a medal in 2016. Like PACE and other California jazz teams, you will see some hard-hitting jazz motions and stellar execution of technical skills on the stage. They have full potential to dance their way to the top this season in the Senior Small Jazz division.

Senior Large Jazz

GOLD -
Dancers Edge Studio, the reigning 2016 World Champions have an extraordinary technical reputation. You can always expect impeccable technique and speed with their movement on the Worlds stage. The dancers really know how to bring their transitions and turn sequences to life in front of a crowd. If you're close enough to the stage, you can hear them breathing as a team in synchronization which allows the choreography to shine.

SILVER - With an emotional fall season themed routine, the Dance Dynamics earned silver in the Senior Large Jazz division in 2016. Last year, they used leaves as props and part of their costume which made the routine very memorable. With this being only their third season qualifying for The Dance Worlds, we'd say these dancers have a bright future ahead of them.

BRONZE - Music City Allstars made it to the Worlds podium for the first time in 2016 as they took home the bronze performing a lyrical piece. This year they plan to rock your soul with beautiful emotion and the strongest technique they've ever shown on stage.

International Open Jazz

At The Dance Worlds, a maximum of 3 teams from each country moves forward out of Semis into Finals helping this division have stronger international representation. In the Open divisions, you will see experienced dancers from around the world giving their all in hopes of capturing the championship title.

GOLD - The Vision Dance Center is working to bring home their third consecutive gold medal at the The Dance Worlds. Their ballet training gives them some extra confidence and adds to their overall crowd favorite performances. Will Vision Dance be able to continue their streak in 2017? SILVER - The Dancin' Bluebonnets brought home silver in 2016 with a breath-taking beautiful routine. Their routine this year begins and ends with the dancers linked touching each other's shoulders in a long diagonal line. Make sure to watch and see if they can work together to bring home another medal this season.

BRONZE - Dance Dynamics took home the bronze medal in 2016 and is a guaranteed top contender at this year's World Championship. This studio produced multiple medal worthy routines in 2016 and continues to break barriers with unique and innovative choreography.

You won't miss Golden Hawks from Japan when they are at The Dance Worlds. When they walk by, they're humbleness and positivity will leave you star struck. There's something about the synchronization and pure joy for dance that they exemplify when they are moving. We can tell that these dancers have trained together for some time by their chemistry on stage. Matching technique and style from dancer to dancer is important if a team wants to be crowned World Champions.

PACE Elite All Star is a power house in the division. "PACE" stands for Positive Attitudes Change Everything and if they bring those attitudes to The Dance Worlds this year, they have strong chance of making USA's top three for finals. They were World champs back in 2011 and silver medalists 2012 and 2015. They have a strong connection to each other on stage that you can feel from the audience. You can expect stellar technique and unique turn sequences again this year.

International Open Coed Jazz

Here come the amazing male dancers from around the world! What's extra special about this division is the unique lifts we'll witness on the stage. These teams take advantage of the extra male strength and the classic partnering skills in the jazz style.

GOLD - Dance Dynamics had a strong lyrical piece with a love triangle storyline that earned them the championship title in 2016. They have bids in both Open Contemporary/Lyrical and Coed Jazz this year and are very capable of performing a strong and true jazz routine.

Dance Dynamics Takes The Gold!

SILVER - PACE Elite All Stars has earned multiple gold medals and World titles in this division. They fell short of the title in 2016 but were able to bring home the silver medal. Be prepared to witness seasoned dancers performing from this squad; some of which have been performing on the Worlds stage since the first year of The Dance Worlds in 2007. They have the experience, the technique and the drive to win it all, but like every dance competition, it comes down to the exact performance at that given time to determine the outcome.

BRONZE - In 2016, Rocheer & Factory All Stars (Mexico) earned the bronze medal after competing with 10 males…YES 10 out of just 16 total dancers. Mexico's jazz teams at Worlds have a greater quantity of well technically trained male dancers than any other team and they use it to their full advantage. The jumps from this group are out of this world. Height of jumps and strength of movement is something that the judges look for, so they have a strong chance of being on the podium again in 2017.
