2. Stretch it out

The first thing Brice does when he walks into practice is stretch for about 10 minutes to get his body warm and ready to go.

3. Don't forget your basics

After stretching, Brice takes to the mat to warm up his basic tumbling skills. Going through the basics gets your mind and body prepped to take on more elite skills.

4. Jam sessions are a MUST

"I have to listen to cheer music to get in the right mind set to perform," says Thomas.

5. Don't forget a pre-performance snack

Brice believes a little sugar rush is a must-do before a performance. "I always eat French fries or some type of candy before I get ready to go to warmups."

7. Team talk and handshakes

Brice always makes sure to pump up his teammates in a huddle before they step onto the mat. After the team breaks, he and his teammates always do their special handshakes.

8. Dance away the nerves

"To make sure I don't get nervous, I scream really loud and dance with my team to get the jitters out before taking the floor," explains Thomas.
