Inside Look At World Cup Kick Off

World Cup fans were not disappointed after watching teams from all five locations at the 2017 Kickoff. The day was filled with high energy and nothing but love and support from World Cup family and friends.

Forty-nine teams took the mat at Brookdale Community College on November 19, 2017, in Middletown, New Jersey. The day started out strong with performances from the Super Stars and Special Stars. Both teams' performances had the crowd on their feet! The WC family was proud to watch the two teams start off the day with incredible routines.

The Twinkles were the last team of the first session. They are a force to be reckoned with this season. Their difficult spinning skills and strong tumbling will help them reach high levels in the youth level 5 division this season.

World Cup’s biggest champion of the day was Cosmic Ray’s athlete, Jordyn. This talented young lady was recognized for the battle that she is facing off of the mat this season as she undergoes treatment for brain cancer.

The WC family proudly applauded her for her strength and bravery and will continue to support her throughout her journey. Many fans wore their grey Jordyn’s Journey shirts all day long to show their support for her. After being recognized, her team took the mat and put on an incredible performance in her honor as she sat front and center cheering them on.

Fans were excited to see the Lazers make their comeback in the IOC5 division! The team is stacked with talented athletes and creative choreography.

Odyssey will make their way back into the senior medium coed division this season. The new team to rock the big O put out a great performance at the kickoff. Odyssey impressed the crowd with their basket height and coed skills.

The day ended with the reigning world champions, the Shooting Stars. These ladies mean business heading into the new season. The young team of new stars is ready to prove that they have what it takes for a repeat in 2018. Their tumbling will be hard for other large senior teams to match.

They achieved their goal of entertaining the crowd with their high energy, fun circus-themed routine.
