'Legendary' Performance Earns Senior Small Hip Hop Gold

Out of all of the divisions at The 2019 Dance Worlds, the closest was Senior Small Hip Hop. After Prelims, any of the top 13 teams were in reach of a podium spot. In Hip Hop, as always, the harder you hit, the better spot you get. All of the teams who placed in the top five in 2018 were back in the top 10 heading into Finals. These teams threw down for their chance at a world title, and it was one of the most epic showdowns of the entire event.

After the dust settled, the team left standing the tallest was Legendary Athletics – Senior Elite. These ladies went into full-on beast mode and put the entire competition on notice. They put on an impressive display of hard-hitting choreography (where they literally stomped the floor so hard that we had to check if they broke it) and killer tricks, such as the one where they did an inversion to a full-stop freeze in mid-air. They made it clear they weren’t playing nice, and after winning silver in 2018, they full-stop went out there and took the gold for themselves.

Pittsburgh Pride All Stars – Ambush also put on an incredible show, bringing out a lot of the fluid sides of Hip Hop to meet up with hard-hitting popping, which was their specialty. They interacted a lot with each other on stage, and it projected just how much fun they were having.

Xtreme Dance wasn’t going to let anyone knock them out of the top five, using a lot of fun modern club-kid elements to stay fresh and near the top.

Imperial Athletics – Stellar, also came through with a really fun routine that was full of attitude and sass.

Closing out the top 10 were: Tune Ups Allstars: TUA, Strut Performing Arts, Tigercubs All-Stars Elite, Pittsburgh Poison All Stars – Nyah, and Dollhouse Dance Factory – Hype.

Although there were only three medals to be handed out, every team in this division was 100% world class and deserving of a place in this stacked Final. Congratulations to all of the teams, especially your new World Champion: Legendary Athletics!
