Cheer Athletics KingCats Keep It "Spicy" At Choreography
The Cheer Athletics KingCats have been making a name for themselves in the International Open Small Coed 5 division since the team was formed in 2015. This year, they're back with a brand-new routine and they gave us a firsthand look at their new choreography with a FloCheer Instagram takeover!

Our goal is to always put on a 'spicy' performance and to be fierce.
KingCats coach Michael Wright tells us what to expect from the Kings (and Queens!) of the Clawstle for the 2017-2018 season:

Tell us about the team!

KingCats is comprised of athletes 14 years and older and it's our second season as an International Small Coed 5 Worlds team. We were very selective when picking this team, and only chose the best 19 athletes to fill the spots. KingCats are a fan favorite; they love performing and putting on a show. Their success is a reflection of effective communication and great leadership.

Who is choreographing your routine this year?
Jamein Small was our choreographer this season. We reached out to him because he's very talented and has choreographed many world recognizable routines. He's known for flashy, over-the-top, fun choreography -- and that's what he did for us. This was his first time working with King, and his second time ever working with Cheer Athletics.

Where did you/your choreographer get the inspiration for this routine?
The coaches have worked hard to find inspiration for this routine. The concepts and intricate elements were all ideas the coaches brainstormed to come up with. It's taken countless hours of practice and meetings to come up with these stunt/pyramid/basket ideas. We gave Jamein our thoughts and
ideas, and he did a great job bringing our vision to life!

You were trying new creative transitions during your social media takeover! Tell us what to expect in this year's routine.
We expect the athletes to be going nonstop! The creative transitions are used to make the routine jaw-dropping and to keep the judges and fans entertained. The entertainment value is just as important as the skills, and that's one of our expectations this year: to entertain and be memorable!

What else do you want the Cheer World to know about KingCats?
Our team word is "spicy." It was established last year along with the hashtag #LEKFC. We can't go into details about what that means, but our goal is to always put on a "spicy" performance and to be fierce. These athletes work super hard, but also know how to have fun!

Every practice is always a "KingCat" party! We hope that you guys stay tuned because we're sure to make a statement this season.
