The Pom divisions are ready to bring vibrant visuals, fierce technique, and pure excitement to the stage at The Dance Worlds 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

Pom is a style of dance that requires impeccable technique, speed, choreography, and transitions. The dance teams in the pom division emphasize synchronized motions and you can tell that you’re watching a championship Pom routine when the dozens of brightly-colored poms on the stage look as though they’re moving in perfect unison. 

The Pom divisions are packed with intricate choreography, unique themes, and tons of energy. At The Dance Worlds 2023, teams from all over the world will compete on stage for the coveted World Champion title, so get ready for all of the fun and exciting pom action!

These are the four different divisions you’ll see in the Pom category: Senior Small, Senior Large, Open, and Open Coed Pom.

In 2021 and 2022, Dance Mania swept the Senior Pom divisions taking gold in both Senior Small and Senior Large Pom. Cheers Factory, from Japan, previously dominated the Senior Small Pom division with their four-peat from 2019 to 2016.

For the past five years, the Open Pom and Open Coed Pom titles have rotated between the Dancing Dream Center Mexico, Champion Dance & Cheer All Stars Black, South Coast Freestyle, Energizers, Velocity Dance, PLANETS - (Japan), Dance Factory - (Mexico).
