FloCheer is highlighting the small gyms and programs that help elevate All Star cheer and build champion athletes on and off the mat for Small Gym September. This week, we’re excited to share the story of Desert Elite Allstars! The program has been competing in All Star for 28 years and are the only Allstar cheerleading gym in Coachella Valley, California! Here is more of their story:

The Story of Desert Elite Mavericks: 

"Amy Grey opened Desert Elite Mavericks in 1997, and we have been D2 strong for the past 28 years! Her 3 daughters have all been a part of the program, from being athletes on the mat to now full-time coaches. The gym has achieved countless achievements, like being 7x NCA Champions and 3x D2 Summit Champions. We have an amazing coaching staff that love cheer and put their hearts into this sport. We are located in Palm Desert, California, and we are the only All-Star Cheerleading gym in the Coachella Valley. 99% of our athletes are home grown, and former athletes have gone on to cheer at some of the top colleges in our region. Some even have gone on to win The Cheerleading Worlds."

Fun Facts about Desert Elite Mavericks: 

• Our owner Amy Grey is a full-time freshman English teacher and still has time to run and operate the gym and make it feel like a safe place for all of our athletes.
• All athletes on our elite teams are home grown. We have had former athletes go on to place Top 3 and some even win The Cheerleading Worlds.
• A lot of graduating athletes have gone on to cheer in college at some amazing programs like UCLA, Cal State San Marcos, San Diego State University, Cal Poly, and more.

• 2022 GRAND Regional Summit Champions
• 3x D2 Summit Champions, 2x D2 Summit Silver Medalist 
• USA National Championships
