The Story of Dance Dynamics: 

Dance Dynamics is truly a family story. Melanie founded the studio 29 years ago, and her daughter Lauren was dancing on the team. After Lauren graduated high school, the two became partners, blending Melanie’s vision and experience with Lauren’s passion for competing at the highest level. Together in 2017, this mother-daughter-duo was honored as USASF “Program Owners of the Year," only their third year in the All Star dance industry. Building Dance Dynamics as a family business has been one of the most rewarding adventures of their lives, and they are proud to see what it has grown in to.

"The evolution of Dance Dynamics is one that we are so proud of. We started in the Texas drill team world and also competed in studio competitions. In 2014, we decided to compete at NDA All-Star Nationals in Texas and found our identity. We have been all in on All Star dance ever since, and have fully immersed ourselves in the world of dance team and its many opportunities and the doors it opens for our dancers. What is amazing is that most of our staff has been on this journey and been a part of the development of this studio. The loyalty and dedication of our staff is unique and rare.

A fun fact about us is, we only work on our dances for 45 minutes per week. Cleaning dances is a small part of the big picture...the emphasis is on training the whole dancer and preparing them for what is available to them after All Star. So, efficiency is key during our team dance time.

We have 2 locations, but they are only 100 yards apart. We outgrew our studio a few years ago, so we took over the building next door to add 3 more full size team rooms. Now we work out of 9 studios to house our 62 teams. Every dancer at Dance Dynamics, from Tiny up, trains and competes in all styles to build their toolbox."

What Makes Dance Dynamics Special: 

"As for things we are looking forward to, its definitely our "night before worlds" secret traditions. Those are some of the most special moments of the whole season where we reflect on the blessings and opportunities we've been given to do something so so special alongside people who mean so much to us. Its a tradition that every team before them holds close to their hearts and that they look forward to. The laughs, tears and gratitude are humbling and whats its all about. They then get to take the stage more connected than ever.

We always say, “Houston is two hours from Houston,” and Dance Dynamics represents the entire Greater Houston area, with dancers from more than 10 different school districts and dozens of schools. They travel from all over to train together, connect with Houston’s top dancers, and build something that is worth the distance. They are so committed to what we are doing here. What makes our program special is the extra mile we go to build a community with our dancers. Being a part of Dance Dynamics isn't just dance... its a whole elevated experience with the perfect combination of training and fun."
