FloCheer is highlighting the small gyms and programs that help elevate All Star cheer and build champion athletes on and off the mat for Small Gym September. This week, we’re sharing the story of Premier Training Center (PTC), the reigning 2026 D2 Summit champions in the L3 Junior - Small division!

The Story of Premier Training Center (PTC): 

Our gym started as a small tumbling program in 2017. Interest in cheer continued to grow, so we eventually grew to two cheer teams in 2020. The following year, we were really able to start our competitive program with an elite level 2 and prep teams. We took our time building the basics and strengthening the athletes in all ways. We continued to work hard & grow, and within just four years, we were able to earn multiple top three finishes & several silver medals at The D2 Summit. In 2026, we had a team win CHEERSPORT and The D2 Summit, which was a huge accomplishment for our program in just our sixth season. The hard work paid off across the board last season with a second-place finish at The Youth Summit, a bronze medal at The D2 Summit, and a fourth-place finish at The D2 Summit. We are excited for the progress in our small program and are hungry to continue making the climb this season!

Fun Facts about Premier Training Center (PTC): 

A fun fact about PTC is that we are the first D2 program in the state of Connecticut to win a D2 Summit title! Another fun fact is that our owner, Nicholas Tiffany, never did cheerleading, but did gymnastics instead!

What Makes The Program Special:

Something that makes our program special is that we have mostly home-grown athletes. Our program is very small with less than 70 elite athletes. In our very first season, we had 8 elite athletes. We have built those athletes from the ground up season to season, teaching most of our athletes from level 1 to level 5.
