The Story of Starz Dance Academy:

"Starz has always been about creating a **lifetime love of dance—not just a love for one season.**

Founded in 2010 by two coaches with a dream, Starz has grown from a small, multi-room facility into a 10,000-square-foot studio designed with our dancers’ needs in mind.

Kate has over 25 years of coaching and choreography experience. She grew up as a competitive dancer and continued to dance for her college team in college, then later danced professionally for the Milwaukee Brewers. She has has a renowned coaching career wining many awards along the way.

Rachel is a former dancer and gymnast where she trained in both in her formative years. Holding a certificate in early childhood development she has been able to expand her knowledge on teaching kids, with experience in teaching, coaching and gym management before opening Starz. Rachel has not only co founded and coached at Starz but has also been coaching a local high school team for 20 years.

What makes Starz truly special is the community we’ve built along the way. Many of our current staff members are dancers who grew up at Starz, trained under our owners, and returned years later to continue being part of the magic. It’s a full-circle experience that means so much to us and is a true reflection of the lasting impact Starz has on its dancers.

Here's a timeline of our history: Started in 2010, have been going to All star events since then. Our first worlds as a program was 2014 bringing a Junior team. Our first worlds win was in 2017 and most recent win was 2026. A few of our staff and choreographers where apart of that 2017 team. Most of our staff grew up dancing at Starz.

Over the years, Starz has become a staple and cornerstone of our community, and we couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come. While we continue to grow and evolve, our mission remains the same: to inspire a lifelong love of dance, build lasting relationships, and create a place where dancers can grow both on and off the dance floor."

"The community aspect, the love for the whole dancer, and being coaches by people who have also done it and been in their shoes. Another big thing about Starz is that we like to give opportunities in many styles so we have consistently competed in pom, jazz, lyrical, kick and hip hop since the beginning."
