Broncos Vs. Panthers: Which Team Has The BEST Cheerleaders?
This Sunday football fans from coast to coast will be getting their snacks ready, remotes in hand and placing bets on who will win Superbowl 50 held in Santa Clara, California. Will it be the Carolina Panthers or the Denver Broncos? Though all the buzz is surrounding who will win the coveted Superbowl rings, those of us who love cheerleading are watching for a glimpse of the cheerleaders. We want to see what they are wearing, what kinds of routines they are performing and we’ll imagine what it must be like to perform at the biggest sporting event in the world. Will the winning football team ALSO have the winning cheerleaders? We have some details about each team’s cheerleaders. Will it be the Bronco Cheerleaders or the Panther Cheerleaders? Monday the world will know which team has the better Superbowl Cheerleaders!

Denver Broncos Cheerleaders 

  • Orange and Navy are their colors.
  • Denver Broncos Football team established in 1960 but re-established the cheerleading program in 1993 after a 17 year absence. 
  • During their spring auditions they have 26 positions available on the team and usually have over 200 who tryout.
  • They started “Cheer For The Troops” to collect basics for our military overseas.
  • They offer a Denver Broncos AllStar Competitive dance team taught by Bronco Cheerleaders who have dance instruction experience.
  • They have a Junior Cheerleader program for kids six to fourteen that gives them the opportunity to perform at the Mile High Stadium in pre-game or half time performances. No tryouts are required.
  • The Denver Broncos cheerleading squad in an average year divides more than 1,500 hours of civic involvement among 100 Colorado organizations.
  • Since 2008, the Dare to Cheer program, in partnership with the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, has reached out to young women with disabilities to share the joy of Broncos football with them.
  • Since 2003, members of the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders have toured military bases in Egypt, Cuba, Iraq, Afghanistan, Italy, Guam, Hawaii, Kwajalein, Japan and Australia performing their 90-minute show to boost the troops’ morale and thank them for their service to our country.
  • Auditions focus primarily on dance ability; however, appearance, personal accomplishments and community involvement also are contributing factors.
  • They have 3 different distinctive western uniforms.The DB Cheerleaders wear long leather chaps and jackets in the fall months, skiwear for cold games and a more traditional cheerleading leather skirt and vest in the summer months. The three uniform changes give the group flexibility with the rapidly changing Colorado weather.

Carolina Panthers Cheerleaders (TopCats)

  • Colors are black, blue, silver and white.
  • Carolina Panthers Football team established in 1995.
  • The Carolina Panthers Cheerleaders - the TopCats - help cheer the Panthers to victory and entertain fans at every home game at Bank of America Stadium. 
  • They are available to their Carolina community for corporate and charitable events. 
  • They have 28 positions on the TopCats team, aka the Panthers cheerleaders.
  • TopCats represent all regions of the Carolinas. 
  • They range in ages from 21 to 40 years old.
  • They hold careers in a variety of distinguished professions, including nursing, event planning, marketing and teaching.
  • During auditions the final squad members are selected based on their personalities, showmanship, dance skills, professionalism and physical fitness.
