NCA & NDA College Nationals in Daytona, Florida kick off on April 6. Teams from all over the United States have been hosting show off performances in preparation for the highly anticipated competition. In addition many of the teams opted to road trip to sunny Daytona which makes for lots of memories and quite the adventure! Here is a sneak peak into the journeys of some of the teams as well as a closer look at what fans might expect from their favorite collegiate teams at 2016 NCA College Nationals.

Navarro Junior College

 In 2015 Navarro won the Junior College Division for the 12th time in history with an impressive seven wins in a row. They recently hosted their show off event for local fans and they were stunning as expected. Their use of all areas of the floor, their fast paced and creative choreography along with truly spectacular stunts will likely take them far during this 2016 Nationals.


Blinn Junior College

Blinn Junior College, from Texas won the Small Coed II Division in 2015 and at their show off this past weekend they were nearly flawless. Their backbend to handstand stunt is impressive and memorable. In addition they have some eye catching dancers who steal the show and make for a crowd pleasing routine.  



Trinity Valley Junior College

This team is consistently strong and well known specifically for their cheer program. This should be quite the group to watch!

University of Louisville

University of Louisville had teams in several divisions in 2015. They took the win in both Small Coed 1A and All Girl 1A. In addition they took a very close third place in Division 1A to Texas Tech in second and Oklahoma State in first. It should be interesting to see how this strong program does in 2016. They spend time training at the well known Gym Tyme All Star gym in Louisville.

UT Arlington

UT Arlington is the reigning Cheer Small Coed I Champion and has three National Championships under their belt. During their show off they had some jaw dropping stunts and pyramids that are sure to give the teams in their division a challenge. Here is a look at some of the routine that helped them win their title last year.

Oklahoma State University

Oklahoma State University won the Division 1A in 2015 and they take their practices very seriously. They made a pit stop in Alabama, during their road trip, for a practice at ACE All Stars in Birmingham.

Texas Tech and University of Houston

Texas Tech and University of Houston cheer were second in their divisions last year, so they are both thirsty for a win this year. A common thread through many of these teams is the choreography of Dalston Delgado.

Sam Houston State University

Practice is ultimately the most important...but bonding and having fun makes the work even more worth it. The Sam Houston State Cheerleaders out of Huntsville, Texas won the Cheer Division I in 2015. They took time to have a pre-competition team dinner and carb load to prepare for their weekend of athletic intensity.
