Grocery shopping may not be the most exciting part of your day, but when you see a girl who has a little more pep in her step and seems to live life a little more colorfully, you can’t help but smile. This girl is most likely a cheerleader. She’s not wearing a uniform or carrying pom poms so what are the signs? These six clues will help you spot those cheerleaders a mile away!

1. SO EXCITED!!!

Bananas! How exciting! Only a cheerleader would be so excited to purchase fruit. (Not to mention the Top Banana award is a big deal at UCA summer camp)

2. The balancing act

Ever see a cute girl with her foot pulled over her head in the grocery store?  That would be a top girl and we all know they need to stretch 24/7. The grocery store is no exception!

3. Wear it with pride

Cheerleaders really don’t have t-shirts that aren’t cheer related and they wear them everywhere! Shirts like “I don’t sweat - I sparkle” or “I’m a cheerleader - what’s your super power?” are an easy give away.

4. BOWS...enough said

They like big bows and they cannot lie and that’s why they wear them day and night! The bigger, the brighter and the more bling the better. Just in case a cheerleader needs a quick bow change they usually have several more clipped to their backpack or purse in case of a bow emergency!

5. 5, 6, 7, 8

Music is usually playing in the background at the store. If you spot a girl discreetly counting to eight and marking choreography as she shops, you can bet your last dollar she did a dance to the song playing back in 7th grade. There’s no denying the facts - this girl is a cheerleader.

6. That cheer style

Cheerleaders have mastered the art of the messy bun and perky pony. If you see one of these up-dos paired with Varsity shorts and bright white shoes - you’ve definitely identified a cheerleader!

Happy shopping!
