Jessie Ayala, Morehead State University Coed
I wear the same sports bra for every performance and I listen to the Morehead motivational videos from past years as I stretch before walk throughs.

Millery Null, University of Alabama & Team USA Coed
Before every performance I do a mental music mark in my head right before warm ups I usually put my headphones in and just mark it that way.

Braxton Smith, University of Kentucky
After warm ups I always say a prayer that I can perform to the best of my ability and stay free from injury. Then I take a deep breath and visualize exactly how I'm going to do the routine.

Kayla Rucker, Morehead State All Girl
I always listen to the hip hop pregame Pandora station. When I tape up, I always do my ankle first then left & right wrist. I put my right shoe on first. And when I get on the floor I tap my toes twice and grip a "loose" fist three times.

Kinsey Hall, Marshall University
Every year except for one I competed with my little sister, so we usually just laughed and joked around and make sure to get one last hug in before taking the mat.

Jay Hollman, University of Central Florida
I always take a second to pray right before I go on and I write a verse on my tape to remind me of something different every time we perform.

Skylar Byram University of Mississippi Coed
I always have to wear thick socks, I get pumped up before warm ups by jamming out with my team and finally I pray by myself before take the mat.

Christian Milburn, Navarro College
Before every competition I pray with my team then I walk away and pray alone in a corner just to make sure my prayers are heard. After that I try my best to make sure my focus is on nothing but the routine that I want to showcase and keep running through every single 8-count in my head… then I go kill it on the floor!

Alex Birch, University of Louisville All-Girl
Someone always has to my hair and makeup for me, and in warm ups I only warm-up the tumbling passes I'm worried about.

Joe Brown University of Kentucky
Last year, Coach Jomo bet each of us a dollar coin that we wouldn't hit our first full out routine, well we did so I took the coin and put it in my left shoe and it stayed there the rest of nationals even during Finals! I could feel it in my shoe periodically and it reminded me of our first hit and to keep pushing every time I felt the coin.

Jenee Neal, University of Louisville
Whenever our team would be walking anywhere like to/from warmups or backstage, if there was a pole or doorway, or anything like that, my team would never "split the pole". So if the first person walked on the right side of the doorway/pole, the entire team had to walk on the right side or if would be "bad luck"
