After a few years of capturing titles at the high school regional, state and national levels, the Hialeah Gardens Senior High School dance team decided to take on the task of competing at the all-star level in 2014. They knew transitioning to all-star dance would mean training harder and longer, but they were up for the challenge!

The Goddesses have been taking the stage at The Dance Worlds for the past three years, and last year the Florida squad placed fifth. The previous season the squad took home the bronze medal.
"This was tough, but I believe it was also a learning experience for that team," Hialeah Gardens co-head coach Adriana Dobarro said.
The Goddesses will be putting those lessons to the test once again at the NDA All-Star National Championship in Grapevine, Texas, on Friday, February 10, to Sunday, February 12.

You are not always going to be on top and it's important that you learn from every performance and make sure you grow stronger from it.[tweet url="https://twitter.com/adridancer10/status/828729944805167104" hide_media="0" hide_thread="1"]
"We took our studio, Next Level Dance Co., with us for the first time along with the Goddesses," said co-head coach Alain Marquez. "Taking the two teams was great, because the Goddesses who compete at the senior level were able to watch and learn from their sister team, Next Level "Supremacy" Open Coed Hip Hop, who actually won the gold and the national cup in our division!"

Leading up to competitions, the Goddesses begin two-a-day practices to mentally and physically prepare themselves for the demanding weekend ahead. They wake up early every day to work out for an hour before school starts and then practice their routines and technique after classes end.
"We always eat lunch together in the dance room throughout the whole year to help build our team bond," Marquez said.

The dancers take pride in being athletes. They run 2-3 miles every day before heading to practice at Next Level Dance Co. Studio. They participate in multiple stretching, acro and strength-conditioning classes as well as putting in extra rehearsal hours every week on their own to make sure they stay in shape and prepared for their upcoming competitions. The head coaches believe their floor work and team tricks were the hardest elements to perfect this season due to the amount of technique required to execute them.

I believe our routines always have a theme and tell a story. From our custom made costumes, to our original and innovative choreography we always seem to be a crowd-pleaser. You can expect an amazing performance by a passionate group of dancers![tweet url="https://twitter.com/danielaadrea_/status/769618520724365313" hide_media="0" hide_thread="1"]
