Full out emotions are a MUST in any top Jazz routine. Indiana Danzforce doesn't just warm up their skills…they start each pre-performance by individually warming up their emotions.

Before checking in for their warm up time at at NDA All-Star Nationals, Indiana Dance Force warmed up their souls and felt their music. The entire team spread out to mentally prepare themselves.
You could find each dancer with their phones in their hands and headphones in. While most coaches would think that allowing their dancers to have their phones before warm ups would be a distraction, Bri Lakomy told us that she's found nothing but success with this warm up approach.
It's a great way to allow the dancers to ignore the distractions that are around them. It's a way for them to hone in on their tempo. It helps them zone in on their music, their tempo and really just own it within their bodies.

After listening to some of her favorite songs, team member, Lily Rogers, likes to warm up her core, get in the zone then channel her emotions to the routine music. She feels that this warm up approach really helps her team tell a story as they perform.
