A Look Back At Large Senior Coed 5
A look back at the Large Senior Coed 5 division and the moment when Stingray Steel won their first ever World Championship at The Cheerleading Worlds 2017.
Oh my, Large Coed! Large Senior Coed 5 was the first division to crown its 2017 champions at The Cheerleading Worlds in Orlando, FL, earlier this month, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more.
Top Gun All Stars TGLC was a division powerhouse this season with their innovative choreography and newly introduced Jarli baskets. TGLC topped the division all year and were awarded the honor of Varsity Triple Crown Champions.
TGLC had a stellar Semi-Final performance that placed them in the lead heading into day two. They also had one of the largest cheering sections of the weekend! The Jags were looking hold on to their lead but an unfortunate fall in the opening stunt sequence caused them to fall back two spots and take the bronze.
TGLC may not have won on the mat, but their sportsmanship at awards was truly incredible. TGLC cheered and chanted loud for every single team announced.

Cheer Athletics Cheetahs came to Worlds with something to prove as the reining 2016 Large Coed champs. Cheetahs started the season strong with a big win at The MAJORS to kick start their year. The squad had one stunt fall in semifinals that gave them room to improve as they went into the finals in second place.
Cheetahs came back better than ever in finals with a solid routine jam-packed with visual elements that earned them the silver medal.
Ladies and gentlemen… can we just take a moment and talk about the Steel Rays? The Stingray All Stars Steel were a bit of an underdog in the division even though they have consistently been in the top five all year. However, that all ended at The Cheerleading Worlds because the Steel Rays left as the 2017 Large Coed World champions!
The Rays had a stunt fall in their elite sequence that had them placed fourth going into day two. With unwavering motivation to make their name known, Steel rocked a flawless final performance that showcased their high-flying pyramid and left the crowd stunned.
