FloCheer Radio had a special guest today: USASF director of technology Mo Duckworth. He joined us for a special Top Of The Worlds segment to spill all the details of The Cheerleading & Dance Worlds 2018.
One of the biggest updates? The competition will take place within the new Arena at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex!
The Cheerleading Worlds is set to use the HP Field House, the Visa Athletic Center, and the new ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Arena. The Arena can be used as one large arena or split up into two, three, or four smaller venues.
At Worlds, the Arena will be opened up as one large competition venue with the ability to hold up to 8,000 people. That's 8,000 sets of eyes all focused down on one team . . .

The incredibly talented all star dance teams will continue to rock the stage for The Dance Worlds at the Coronado Springs Resort.
Mo also gave FloCheer the inside scoop on the World Cup Race. The Race was started a few years ago to help teams who might not otherwise be able to receive a bid to Worlds.
Here's how it works.
All Level 5 and 6 teams that enter one or more of the 49 designated USASF Worlds Cup Race events will earn points that are tracked throughout the season. At the end of the season, the top six Level 5 and 6 teams with the highest point totals will receive paid or at-large bids to the 2018 Cheerleading Worlds!
Points are calculated based on final rankings and the number of teams competing within the division. A maximum of the five highest calculated scores per team will be used in the Worlds Cup Race totals.
At the conclusion of each designated event, the event producer will post their Level 5 and 6 team results in the Worlds Cup Race database to be calculated and ranked nationally. The updated standings will be available on USASF's website at the end of each week.
After April 10, 2018, once all USASF Cheerleading Worlds Cup Race events have finished and the results are complete, USASF will award three Paid and three At-Large Bids to The Cheerleading World Championship to the Level 5 and 6 teams with the six highest World Cup Race point totals.
