The Toughest Division To Predict: Senior Medium Coed 5

Senior. Medium Coed. Where do we even begin? This division is guaranteed to be one of the deepest, craziest, most talented divisions you will watch at The Cheerleading Worlds 2018. The Senior Medium Coed 5 division is stacked with talented teams from across the U.S.

A new champion has been crowned at nearly every event with over five teams taking home two or more major titles this season.

The reigning division world champions are the California All Stars Black Ops. The Livermore team delivered two stunning performances at Worlds 2017 and they are sure to put up a fight to defend their title this season.

Black Ops executed two major wins this season on the West Coast at Spirit Sports Duel In The Desert and USA All Star Championships in Anaheim, California. Their fast-paced elite stunt sequence is a highlight of their routine and a must-watch moment in the tough division.

Can Cali Black Ops become back-to-back world champions?

Over on the East Coast, Rockstar Cheer Beatles has been grinding hard to earn their first gold globe. The Beatles took silver at the 2017 Cheerleading Worlds and they're hungry for the top spot.

FloCheer was lucky enough to get a first look at their routine at their Fall Showcase and they showed us they aren't going down without a fight.

Beatles earned their first win of the season at Spirit of Hope and have continued to place in the top all season long. The South Carolina team took second at The MAJORS where they also earned the Fan Favorite Award. They went on to take fourth at CHEERSPORT and third at NCA All-Star.

Will the 2018 Cheerleading Worlds be Rockstar Beatle's time to finally take home gold?

Down in Texas, Woodlands Elite Black Ops is another must-watch team. They placed fifth at Worlds 2017 and are looking to move up to the podium this season.

The Blops looked strong at their Sweet16 Family Showcase when the debuted their new routine that is arguably one of the most difficult in the division. Their standing tumbling will make your jaw drop, and when this team turns it on, you can't look away.

Black Ops earned their paid bid early in the season at the Encore Championships in Houston. They continued with another big win just a week later at The Cheer Alliance Championship in Lousiville, Kentucky. Blops earned one more major win at JAMfest Cheer Super Nationals in Indianapolis and have been working to perfect their difficult routine ever since.

Can Woodlands Elite Black Ops earn their first-ever World title in 2018?

Up north, Maryland Twisters Reign has been storming through the division this season. Reign fell just short of the Worlds podium in 2017 but have been a force to be reckoned with in the new season.

Their fast-paced and creative choreography has been a crowd favorite at every event and they continue to improve every time they step on the mat. Reign earned two huge wins early in the season at WSF Louisville and The MAJORS.

Since The MAJORS, Reign has added more breakdance-inspired moves and few upgrades that have placed well at recent competitions. The Medium Coed team took second at NCA All-Star Nationals in Dallas and first place at Reach The Beach Nationals in their home state.

Will Reign's creative choreography earn them a spot on the podium this season?

Spirit of Texas Royalty hasn't won a Worlds title since 2016, but after huge wins at CHEERSPORT and NCA All-Star Nationals the six-time world championship team is right on track to take back their title in 2018.

Royalty's Day 2 NCA routine scored a 97.62 to earn them their first set of black championship jackets since 2014. The team's entertaining 2018 routine is taking them back to their past winning ways. Will this be the year they take back their world title?

Stingray Allstars Cobalt is a new team out of Marietta, Georgia, that has been on everyone's radar since their debut at The Cheer Alliance Championship. They made themselves a top contender after placing third at CHEERSPORT and moving up to second at UCA IASC. Could this young team earn a globe on their first trip to The Cheerleading Worlds?

The 2017 Bronze medalists, Cheer Extreme Raleigh SMOEX, have had a solid season taking second place at JAMfest Cheer Super & CHEERSPORT Nationals. Will Worlds 2018 be the time for SMOEX to jump the ranks to number 1?

A few other teams to add to your watch list in the Senior Medium Coed 5 division are World Cup Odyssey, and Southern Athletics Pride 5. All three teams have been climbing the ranks with consistent routines throughout the season. Could 2018 be the year one of these teams make it to the top at Worlds?
