USASF Dance Rules & Division Updates For Worlds 2019

The 2018 USASF National Meeting took place this weekend in Dallas, Texas with over 600 coaches and industry professionals joining together to elevate All Star cheer and dance and prepare for the season ahead.

To align with cheer, dance rule updates for the 2018-19 season were discussed and there are exciting new changes coming to All Star dance and you don't want to be the last in the last to know.

Here are 5 BIG things you need to know going into The Dance Worlds 2019!

1. Senior Contemporary/Lyrical Division will be split by size.

Since the Contemporary/Lyrical division was added to The Dance Worlds, the division has had overwhelming success and has grown large enough to be split by size.

Contemporary/Lyrical will now be split into Senior Small (4-14 athletes) & Senior Large (15+ athletes).

2. Senior Divisions Add Bottom Age Range.

Senior level teams will now have a defined age range of 11-18. The USASF member database will calculate the age on August 31, 2018.

3. Small Senior Hip Hop Bid Update

Teams competing in the Small Senior Hip Hop Division who received an At-Large Bid will compete in Prelims and a minimum of 50% of the teams will move into Semi-Finals to compete against the teams who received Partial-Paid Bids.

4. Routine Time Limit Change.

The USASF Divisions have a routine time minimum of 1:45 to a maximum of 2:15.

5. 50% Of Teams in the Senior Divisions Will Advance From Semi-Finals

50% of teams in the Senior Divisions will advance from Semi-Finals to Finals at The Dance Worlds regardless of the number of teams competing Semi-Finals.
