You want to see the best Senior Small Coed Hip Hop teams duke it out to prove who’s the best of the best? Well, you came to the right place. The 2019 Dance Worlds was home to an incredible competition between some serious Hip Hop powerhouses. We started the weekend with 11 teams, and finished with a battle royale between the six best in Finals. It was an incredible matchup, and the teams kept it extremely close to earn a spot on the podium.
Coming out of Prelims in third place, Power of Dance – Polaris – Wings knew that they had to bring it even harder to give themselves a chance to move up. All we can say is this: challenge accepted. Donning Michael Jordan basketball jerseys, they embodied the spirit of the fighter that MJ was in his career. Knowing they were down, they came out of the gates with more energy, sharper hits, and cleaner transitions and lines. They were one of the greatest comeback stories of the entire competition.
Nipping right at their heels in second place was Ultimate Allstars – Red Thunder. They commanded the floor with a super hard-hitting presence and tricks they nailed. Some of the tumbling skills they did had the cleanest landings we saw all weekend.
Also right there in third, and definitely another major highlight of the division, was Strut Performing Arts—they had some of the most impressive floor work at the event and great individual and partner tricks.
Just missing the podium, but still putting on an amazing show were Imperial Athletics – Supremacy, Velocity Dance – Swag, and Adrenaline Allstars - Thunder Crew, who finished fourth through sixth, respectively. When it got down to the final six teams, it was tough to decipher who was going to win because all of the teams were so great. So, congratulations to all competitors for putting out some killer routines on The Dance Worlds floor.
Congratulations to our new World Champion, Power of Dance – Polaris – Wings!
