Do's And Don'ts Of Summer Break

Summer break is definitely a time to rest after coming off of the previous season, but it isn’t meant for you to be lazy! Staying active will help you to stay in shape so that it isn’t too hard to get back into the swing of things for the next season.

Here are a few things to remember while you’re taking your summer break.

Do drink a lot of water, even if you throw in your favorite soda every now and then. I mean, it is summer!

Don’t indulge carbonated drinks. It will be even harder to get back to your normal habits.

Do plan some sort of physical activity daily. Whether it’s going for a run, tumbling in the gym for 30 minutes, or simply walking your dog, find a way to be active.

Don’t turn into a couch potato. It’s okay to have “lazy days” every now and then, but don’t get into the habit of it!

Do fuel your body with the right foods. If you go on vacation, of course, it’s okay to splurge here and there, but your body still needs fresh fruits and vegetables.

Don’t constantly eat junk food. This will only make you want more, and eventually, it will be hard to turn back

Do go into the gym at least once or twice a week. During the season you’re in the gym almost every day, so it’s okay to cut some time out of your gym schedule, but not too much.

Don’t ignore the gym completely. Your body still needs to use those muscles to keep them strong and at their best.

Do work skills that you want to gain for the next season. Summertime is the best time to get better for the upcoming year.

Don’t stay complacent with the skills you already have. Continue to throw your mastered skills so that you don’t lose them, but learning something new only makes you better.
