This year is an exciting year for Top Gun as they take on a new division, Senior Open All Girl Level 6.
Top Gun chose to take on this division due to the influx of 18 and over females that were interested in continuing their cheerleading career. Wanting a name that plays off of their Senior Medium All Girl team, Lady Jags, the staff chose to use the name “Woman Jags” for the new team.

“Many of the girls who are apart of the team have been on Lady Jags in previous years, so we chose to use the name “Woman Jags” since the team is made up of girls who have aged out,” said Coach Ashley Garriga.
As we all know, summer is the time to focus on skills, technique and bonding before choreography and competition season roll around. Woman Jags is using their summer to create their bond as a team. Although most of the team has apart of Top Gun in years past, many of the athletes will be cheering together for the first time, plus there are a few new athletes that will be joining the program this year.
“We have athletes who cheered on Lady Jag’s first year back in 2013,” added Coach Greg Ghazal.
With it being the first year as an Open All Girl team, the coaches and athletes are excited to create a “first" for Top Gun, as well as create more friendships and memories with their new teammates.
Coaching the new team this year will be Ashley Garriga and Taylor Shapiro alongside Greg Ghazal and Jose Gonzalez.
