GOLD: Velocity Dance - WOOP

Final Score: 82.9

Velocity Dance took gold in the Open Coed Pom competition at The Dance Worlds 2021. Velocity took their exciting TuneSquad-themed routine to the stage at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and came out victorious against Intensity Athletics.

SILVER: Intensity Athletics - Cobras

Final Score: 70.2

When the pandemic took the world by storm and caused the all star season to come to a halt, the Cobras from Intensity Athletics decided not to quit, but to pivot.

The Cobras were slated to be an L6 International Open Non Tumbling team in 2021, but unfortunately, cheerleaders in Albany County, New York, were restricted from stunting all summer and fall.

While trying to prepare for a season full of unknowns, the athletes danced, conditioned, and jumped. The coaches decided that if they could still not stunt by January 1st they would be forced to cut the team for the season.

After watching the bond grow between the athletes, the coaches decided on the first of the year that they would make the transition to a Pom team and try and earn a bid to The Dance Worlds.

Intensity Athletics Cobras' dream became a reality last May as they put on a show in Orlando, Florida, but this time as a dance team. Their hard work paid off and the Cobras took home the Open Coed Pom silver medals in 2021.
