Dart Frogs Hitting A Bullseye Senior Small Coed Hip Hop
Pittsburgh Poison Dart Frogs were the Apex Predators in Semi-Finals in Senior Small Coed Hip Hop at The Dance Worlds 2022.

Good things come in small packages, and great performances come out of the Senior Small Coed Hip Hop Division at The Dance Worlds 2022.
The division was absolutely loaded with incredible performance after incredible performance, and the teams all put their mark out there to be remembered. The routines were filled with high energy, difficult, and of course, stacked to the brim with swag. All of the performances were part of the sudden-death Prelims round with only six spots in Finals up for grabs. With the pressure on, these teams delivered.
The reigning World Champions were at it again, bringing out a routine that was froggy leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. They say that the more colorful an animal is, the more venomous it can be, and the Dart Frogs from Pittsburgh Poison hit the stage like an absolute dangerous powerhouse.
Highlighted by some incredibly bright neon shoes and blue outfits to look the part of their namesake, the team wasn’t out of step for a single second. From the opening lift (which was crazy good) to the last beat of the music, the Dart Frogs let the Coronado Ballroom have it, showing no mercy. The effortless tricks, stunning isolations, and non-stop breathtaking moments one after another, all added up to a routine that set an incredible standard for everyone else to chase.

Some other strong highlights included Footnotes Fusion High Definition. After finishing in 3rd in 2021, they are back with a force of a routine. Similar to the Dart Frogs, this team has an eye-catching element in their costumes in the form of yellow sleeves that could easily be a distraction for a less-disciplined team.
However, High Definition’s impeccable technique is its strength, and the bright sleeves only served to showcase how precise they were. From start to finish, there seemed to be dancers flying all over the stage, in the most controlled way possible. It was extremely exciting and fun to witness.

TUA Hot Crew, the 4th place finishers from 2021, used a routine that started out with a bang and never stopped to be one of the standout performances of the day. They had great tricks and really nice individual highlights, and they moved together as a team extremely well with sharp and quick choreography.

Alternatively, Ultimate Allstars Coed Elite had more of a lyrical Hip Hop style and focused on the emotion of the music to bring out the passionate side of the category. The performance illustrated a number of Hip Hop genres and kept the audience guessing. It was definitely one of the smoothest performances of the entire day.
Combining the best of both worlds, Power of Dance Come Thru went from 0 to 100 the moment the music began to show out some hard-hitting moments, paired nicely with some very smooth swagged-out elements.
Fierce Factory Dance & Talent brought the Voltage with an electrifying performance centered around a song military/warrior theme. Dance Savannah Beeast Mode used just five team members to put forth an unforgettable performance (even though they tried to erase our memories at the end to fit their “Men in Black” theme).
NCA Dance Studio Senior OGs had a lot of strong full-team moments and fierce musicality. Midwest Cheer Elite Cleveland Black Ice Krew did an incredible job of achieving seamless uniformity with all members of the team and executed an intense style very well.
A final highlight came from the very first performance of the division. Almaden Spirit Athletics Onyx had the unthinkable happen when a team member went down with an injury just a few moments into the performance. They were able to regroup, come back, and did a great job in their second performance. They looked cool and confident, and no one would ever have known that something had happened.
In the end, the Dart Frogs took the top score of the day, followed by Strut Performing Arts and Footnotes Fusion High Definition to fill out the top three. Power of Dance Come Thru, Ultimate Allstars Coed Elite, and TUA Hot Crew grabbed the other three remaining placements to claim their spots in the Finals. Congratulations to all of the Finalists!
The Hip Hop battle for the podium should be interesting, and the teams that are in the fight all have a great shot to bring home a medal. The Semi-Finals competition was incredible, and all of the participating programs have everything to be proud of.
