The Large Senior L5 Ladies Are Ready For Worlds
L5 Large Senior is one of the most competitive and talked about divisions of the year. Here is the division 4-1-1 as we head into The Cheerleading Worlds.
The Large Senior All Girl L5 division has been an overwhelming crowd favorite this season. With the ability to have up to 36 athletes on the mat at a time, these teams can cover all nine mats at The Cheerleading Worlds with impressive stunts sequences and visual pyramids in Orlando, FL, on Saturday, April 29, to Monday, May 1.
In 2016, Maryland Twisters F5 rose to the occasion to take home their second World Championship title. The Stingray All Stars Orange claimed the silver, followed by Cheer Athletics Panthers, who took home the bronze.
World Cup Shooting Stars won Worlds in 2015 but fell just short of the podium in 2016 as they finished in fourth. World Cup is the only team to have medaled every year from 2007-15.
The battle for the top spot this season has been just that, a battle. If every team in the division is able to "hit zero" at Finals, it would be a complete toss-up for who would take the crown.

Cheer Athletics Panthers started the season off strong with a big win at The MAJORS. Cheer Extreme Senior Elite, who has won Worlds three times in the past, placed second and has been threatening to take the top spot at every competition this year.
Stingray Orange placed fourth at The MAJORS, but that was the only time this season the Rays didn't win at a competition they attended. The Orange Rays went on to take the top spot at CHEERSPORT Nationals, NCA All Star, and UCA All Star to claim the Varsity All Star Triple Crown.

Cheer Extreme Senior Elite continued to stay close on their heels with a second-place finish at CHEERSPORT, NCA All-Star, and a third-place finish at UCA.
Maryland Twisters F5 and World Cup Shooting Stars have been finishing in the top five all season long. These two teams have a lot of history when it comes to facing off on the Worlds mat, so it will be interesting to see where the placements fall come Finals.
