BREAKING: The 2020 USASF Cheerleading & Dance Worlds Are Canceled

It's been a rollercoaster few months as the recent global pandemic has halted both the school and all star seasons. On March 15th, the USASF announced that The Cheerleading & Dance Worlds originally scheduled for April 24-26, 2020 would be postponed.

Over the last month, we've waited and hoped that things would turn around and life would return to normal.

On April 23, 2020, USASF announced that The Cheerleading & Dance Worlds would be canceled.

USASF UPDATE | Worlds 2020 and COVID-19

Earlier this month we promised a final decision by April 24 as to whether The USASF Cheerleading and Dance World Championship would be possible for 2020. The USASF sent a survey to U.S. bid recipients to measure their intention to participate if Worlds were held at the end of June. The data tells us we would expect a World Championship with no international teams and a diminished presence of U.S teams.

We have decided that the USASF Worlds that was rescheduled for the last week in June is cancelled. We are deeply saddened that this is the decision for 2020 Worlds and sincerely share in everyone’s disappointment surrounding the cancellation. With great hope, we look forward to a tremendous 2021 Worlds.

The IASF is considering holding The IASF World Championship for International and Open Divisions potentially in late September or early October 2020 in conjunction with the ICU World Cheerleading Championship. A survey will be sent to teams that compete in those divisions to determine interest in an event at that time.

We stand committed to helping each other through it in a way that strengthens athletes and their families, coaches, club owners, event producers, supplier companies, and all of us.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through possibilities together. Know that the health and safety of the athletes and all participants will continue to be at the core of every decision we make.
