California Baptist Takes Game 6 Against Oklahoma Baptist

Game 6 proved to be the match-up College STUNT fans have been waiting for all season long. Top-seed California Baptist University faced off against powerhouse program Oklahoma Baptist University.

The first quarter kicked off with a bang as the Lancers and the Bison tied for the first two routines of the game. The teams were neck and neck for all four rounds of the quarter but CBU took an early 4-2 lead.

The second quarter is all about Pyramids and Tosses, a clear strength of both programs. Oklahoma Baptist took the first point of the quarter but the competition was fierce and the precision and technique of these two teams was put on display. CBU and OBU tied for the next two routines before CBU closed out the quarter with a point to end the half with a 7-5 lead.

In Quarter 3, the teams were focusing on their tumbling technique, timing, jump flexibility, and the landing of their skills as they tried to earn an edge over their competitors. The Jumps and Tumbling quarter ended with the Lancers extending their lead to 11-7.

Heading into the final quarter of Game 6, both teams had to really focus on all the minor details of their routines. The Bison had been trailing closely behind CBU for the majority of the game but this was their last chance to try and close the gap and take the lead.

Oklahoma Baptist University held strong in the quarter tacking on three more points to their score but the attention to detail from the Lancers pushed CBU ahead to take the game 18-10.

With the win, California Baptist punches their ticket to the Varsity Championship Game tonight at 5:30 PM CT.

Oklahoma Baptist University dropped into the lower bracket and will move on to face Concordia University. The winner of Game 7 will advance to face California Baptist University in Varsity Championship Game.
